Ningbo, by the coast of East China Sea, is a renowned city of culture and history. It enjoys the titles of City with Advanced Civilization and a City Separately-listed in the State Economic Plan. With the social and economic development of Ningbo, the undertaking of archives in Ningbo has witnessed a steady growth over the past decade.
Ningbo Archives boasts rich collection of valuable archives of the Qing Dynasty, the Minguo Period and the postliberation era (after 1949). Those archives are reasonably structured, covering extensive fields with distinctive local flavor. It is not only the archives center of city level, but also an archives inquiry service center, and a base for patriotism education in Ningbo as well. Meanwhile an E-government platform is under construction in the Archives.
